Sweet Little Lullaby

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

You're really not so far away, in the morning

I can see you, when I sleep

I can see your face, if I think real hard.

You're really not so far

I'm feeling all right, as long as I keep you in my sight

You know that it's getting late, in the evening

The sun caught me sleepy eyed and the stars

caught me howling at the moon

Just thinking of you and singing this tune

Sweet Little Lullaby and feeling all right

as long as I keep you in my sight

You know that it's getting late, in the evening

The sun caught me, sleepy eyed and the stars

caught me howling at the moon

Just thinking of you and singing this tune

Sweet Little Lullaby and feeling all right

as long as I keep you in my sight

Only for a Moment

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

How come new beginnings,  are so hard to start

How come our lives seem to grow, so far apart

You keep looking down the road, while I'm looking back

was it the things you had, or the things I lack

That made you so attractive to me

Well now I'm broke without a cent

and like my money, my ambitions went

Everything you got your hands on, you spent

Was it worth the price we paid, was it worth the sacrifice

Was my love so cheap, you could throw it all away

Well I'm sorry, but I just can't see it that way

Lately it's been hard. it's been hard lately

Can't seem to get you off of my mind

Too many miles, too many lady's smiles

Too many after whiles, between us

but if I close my eyes, with all my might

I may risk being a little blind

but then life doesn't seem so unkind anymore

and you seem closer. if only for a moment

The moment pleases me

Lately it's been hard, it's been hard lately

Can't seem to get you off, of my mind

Too many lady's smiles, too many after whiles, between us

but if I close my eyes, with all my might

I may risk being a little blind

but then lif doesn't seem so unkind anymore

and you seem closer, if only for a moment

The moment pleases me

I Want to Believe

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

You might think that I could love you more, it just isn't so

I want to believe, in your heart you'll always know

You may give some unsuspecting heart, a reason to believe

You might offer just a glimmer of hope to a man

that he might leave with you, but say it isn't so

I want to believe,  that you'll always tell him no

We might fight, we might disagree, under your breathe

you might say, "that you don't know, why your with me."

You might think that, I could love you more

It just isn't so, I want to believe, in your heart you'll always know

When the sun doesn't shine and the rain's coming down

and brighter days seem so long ago

You have your heart wrapped around

a horse, that struggles from the gate

Running dead last, without a turn to go

You might think, that I could love you more

I want to believe, in your heart you'll always know

I want to believe, that my love will always show

Happiness Just Rides Along

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

Money can make you happy, if you have it and you spend it

but if you spend it darling it's forever gone

Love if you spend it, it only makes you stronger

and if you have it.  Your love for life, is forever long

I don't sing, 'cause I'm happy

I just sing and happiness just rides along

I don't love you, 'cause you're pretty

It's your beauty, that fills my soul with song

Now for you if I could, I would stop the sun from setting

just for a moment or two. 'Cause no matter how busy you were

You and I would have longer with the view

Every child's laughter, would ring for days on end

I deliver a dose of kindness, with every spoon.

Me and Mr. Yates, we do agree on love

No one can begin it, too soon

I don't sing, 'cause I'm happy

I just sing and happiness just rides along

I don't love you, because you're pretty

It's your beauty that fills my soul with song

Now whether it's the chilly winds of winter

or just another dog day afternoon

I pray that every, job site morning whistle

Encourages yet, another heart to bloom

I don't sing, 'cause I'm happy

I just sing and happiness just rides along

I don't love you, 'cause you're pretty

It's your beauty that fills my soul with song

You fill my heart the most

I have to thank the Lord above I had the chance

Remember What is Good in Life

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

You have to wink at life, as it's passing by

Because it frequently smiles, but occasionally cries

Should life not leave you first

It's gone in a blink of an eye and

you'll struggle for what in life is good

When bad things happen, they never seem to last

When good things happen, they never leave our past

So embrace all the smiles and keep the tears in the drawer

and remember what is good in life

There are things that will help, with thoughts like

I wish I could've done a little bit more

There are things I know I should

Take a deep breathe, give life a long hard wink

and remember what is good in life.

When bad things happen, they never seem to last

but when good things happen, they never leave our past.

So embrace all the smiles and keep the tears in the drawer

and remember what is good in life

There are things that we will never understand

Though they're different for you,  maybe that's part of the plan

So embrace all the smiles and keep the tears in the drawer

ans give life a knowing wink

Now this I learned from, Danielle, with her blue eyes

The last time I saw them, they were closed to the sky

Maybe she was trying to tell me, this is no time to cry

but to remember what is good in life.

Remember what is good in life and to give life

a long hard wink

It's Only Love

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

You can hide your heart. You can refuse my stares

You can deny any compliment, or loving words

 you don't wish to hear

You can lobby your heart, for any truth

You think you might believe

but darling, that won't set you free

It's only love, you can put it on the shelf

but you're going to sneak a peek

'cause it's only love, that will make you feel stronger

when what happens in life, makes you feel so weak

It's only love.  You can put in on the shelf

I guarantee you'll sneak a peek

It's only love darling,  that will set you free

When you're emotionally impoverished

On one of your sentimental fasts

You say, love's not for you. it's done passed you bye

It's fettered to your past

You can lobby your heart for any truth

You think you might believe

but darling that won't set you free

It's only love, you can put it on the shelf

but you're going to sneak a peek

It's only love, if a healthy spirit is what you desire

It's life's one remedy.  It's only love, you can put it on the shelf

I guarantee you'll sneak a peek

'cause it's only love darling, that will set you free

To make it through the day, your heart has to beat

It's not really science, it's some odd chemistry

That makes you walk a little faster, smile when you sleep

and every touch to your lips, tastes a little bit sweeter

It's only love, you can put it on the shelf but

you're going to sneak a peek

It's only love, that will make you feel stronger

When what happens in life, makes you feel so damn weak

It's only love, you can put it on the shelf

I guarantee you'll sneak a peek.  Because it's only love darling

that will set you free.  It's only love

Trying to Change My Ways

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

I can't blame it, on my childhood

 because my childhood was good

I can't blame  it, on my love affairs

because they never lasted like they should

It's been married  three years now

and not once has it lasted a year

I guess it's because of my reasoning

My reasoning was never too clear

but I'm trying to change my ways

I'm trying to change my ways

If it's not already too late

Sometimes I drink and I smoke more than I should

Sometimes a little sip and a toke, sure does me good

I never could deny a pretty girl's eye

When she was looking my way

I guess that's my greatest fault

I never turned a pretty girl away

but I'm trying to change my ways

I'm trying to change my ways

If it's not already too late

I don't know where you came from

but I'm sure glad you came my way

Heaven knows, I don't deserve you

but I think I'll keep you anyway

because I'm going further and further down the road day by day

and pretty soon the darkness falls

and someone's going to take me away

Then I'll have to change my ways

I'll have to change my ways

because some people just won't wait

Some people just won't wait

Some people just won't wait

Step Down Easy

written: Daniel Warren.BMI

Well I was married, I was happy quite young

I did nothing wrong, but like a bandit

I was tried and soon was hung

In a world, forever seemed so smooth

I was mistaken, to be taken, but I was taken by her moves

Now I'm staring inside a crystal

Searching for my thoughts inside a glass

Step down, step down easy

Step down, step down easy, pull out your heart

Thoughts expelled, but on the ledger they're lost

One mind interprets, what another mind has tossed

Your heart is on the wind and a rip wears in the cloth

You fill the emptiness, with dimensions that seem cross

You've got to learn to step down, step down easy

Step down, step down easy

Step down, step down easy, pull out your heart

I feel like I'm falling, deeper and deeper into the day

It seems the more you have at hand

the less you finally pay, at least that's what they say anyway

When I feel that I can't make it through the night

I see you there and the truth is clear in sight

I know I'm fallin' ever so helpless into the night

Step down, step down easy

Step down, step down easy

Brent Creek

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

Days spent on Brent Creek, were days spent sweet

On the bank, is where we'd meet.  My older brother and me

Days spent on Brent Creek, were days spent sweet

Singing triumphs not yet measured, we'd sit and dangle our feet

Today the house was still and calm

Heaven knows it wasn't always that way

Her smile so full of love and warmth

Why did happiness so often turn away

The creek would sing both day and night

Just beyond the bedroom walls

Watching water carry away her hopes

You could almost hear, the last dream caw

but on Brent Creek, were days spent sweet

On the bank was where we'd meet, often with our willow poles

With outstretched arms, we would dangle a line

Praying softly, that a fish would hit

We'd string our trophies and bring them home

For it's something only Mama could fix

Many times it was a twisted arm

That would hold the lard and butter

My mouth would water, prepared with love

Love only born of a mother

Days spent on Brent Creek, were days spent sweet

On the bank was where we'd meet

We'd sit and dangle our feet

Through eyes barely seven, maybe it wasn't clear yo see

Did I sit and watch her dreams drift by,  was I just too young to see

Was the branch in the wet, trying to slow them down

Past the  rock, the deer and trees

Was the sun burning bright, trying to do it's best

to reveal something else to me

Days spent on Brent Creek, were days spent sweet

On the bank is where we'd meet

Often the house was scared and loud

Poorer than possible seemed

but Mama did give us a house full of love

Next to a creek full of dreams

Ah....  the dreams were sweet

Come Walk with Us

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

When I take her hand and we walk along

Her hand's not that big. her  hand's  not that strong

So how can it hold, the whole world

My whole world's, in that little girl's hand

So come walk with us

We can always rest for laughter, under any old tree

Let's just walk  and let's see what the day will bring

It was precious gift, that was delivered to me

What was less deserved, her mother or she

If I have to walk until it's determined for me

I'm going to see that shining sea

So come walk with us

We can always rest for laughter, under any old tree

If something should make you unhappy

We'll just put it on that list of things to quit

With our hearts linked together

The world will be a better place

With our hearts in our hands, we can walk this land

and see what the day will bring

Let's walk to the well on the hill

Where the rain is always welcome

for the flowers to bloom and to show us, the rainbow's rings

So come walk with us

 bring your dreams and aspirations

Those we will always discuss.  Let's just walk

and let's see what the day will bring

For here no man, is better than another

For here, good cheer is king

So come walk with us and let's see what the day will bring

Come walk with us and let's see what the day will bring

Let's just walk, come walk with us

Running from the Law

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

Befriended by a stranger , could the wink of his eye

I could the smirk of his lips and his gentleman's style

He was preaching desperation,  and how to

step out over the line.  Running from the Law

I can feel Lord, I can feel

but I seem to be growing just a little bit old

Everything I had, up to now I can't seem to hold

Running from the law

Held up in a box car, sittin' idle in the rain

A little gun shy from his lovers

A little wounded and in pain

Everything he's done up to now

Seems to be all done in vain

Running from the law

I can feel Lord, I can feel

I seem to be growing, just a little bit old

Everything I had up to now, I can't seem to hold

Running from the law

With the devil in my holster and spurs strapped to my heels

Got a draw as fast as lightening, people say, I'm dressed to kill

but I'm searching for my freedom lying dead upon the hill

Running from the law

I can feel Lord, I can feel

but I seem to be growing just a little bit old

Everything I had up to now, I can't seem to hold

Running from the law

I Didn't See You Coming

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

I surely didn't see you coming, but I'm glad I saw you leave

I surely didn't see you coming, but I'm damn glad I saw you leave

'Cause with you there's only pain

Now I wear nothing but smiles upon my sleeve

You're a cold hearted woman

Surely your heart's made out of stone

You are a cold and selfish lover, with a heart made out of stone

I remember wanting you around

Now I want to be on that list of ones you leave alone

I was naive and a novice to your games

I've read and learned the book of don'ts,   titled with your name.

You're out of my heart,  you're out of my head

Now hope has moved back in and there;s love back in my bed

If I had only seen you coming, I would've run a hundred miles

If I had only seen you coming, I would've run a hundred miles

I'm only 50 from the shore, but I would've risked the 50 more

To see you smaller, getting smaller, standing distant on the shore

Now the corners of my mouth can turn up again

because everywhere I look, there's only places where you've been

Loving you should be illegal, stealing hearts you don't deserve

If it's said that you're the one, I pray to God it's never heard

You think you're so damn pretty you, you're fairly easy on the eyes

You think you're so darn pretty, yes you're easy on the eyes

but those crafty lies you tell, they leave those pretty lips so well

That I'm sure you were born, at an address so near to hell

  it still burns

I surely didn't see you coming, but I'm glad I saw you leave

I surely didn't see you coming, but with you there's only pain

Now I wear nothing but smiles upon my sleeve

Shut Up and Get Out

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

You say that he's just a friend. well I'll tell you I have my doubts

He always seems to be coming in,

When I'm conveniently headed out, like to work

or the hundred  things I do for you

You say it's, coincidence, well I'll tell you I've got my doubts

about your innocence, so shut up and get out

When I come home and the phone is ringing

No one ever says, "hello." and about this new look you're wearing

Where you're going, I would love to know

and about this whole list of things, you're suddenly interested in

I have to tell you honey, there's a list of one

There's only one thing, that really did you in

So shut up and get out, so shut up and get out

About those girls' nights out , you say your just killing time

About those friends of yours, well now

one is a special friend of mine and she smiles

A lot more than you do, I can hear you now, you'll say

it's just a bounce, but it's a good bounce away from you

So shut up and get out, shut up and get out

Shut up and get out, I've heard it too many times

Shut up and get out

Something Just Don't Feel Right

written: Daniel Warren/BMI

Maybe I missed my calling, somewhere on the other side

Trying to save up, all of my money, but somebody takes it

 when I put it aside

Now something just don't feel right

Something just don't feel right

You say that you'll always be near me

but when I call  your name, you're not there

You say that you'll always love me baby

but your actions tell me you don't care

Now something just don't feel right

Something just don't feel right

You say that you'll always be near me

but when I call your name, your not there

You say that you'll always love me baby

but your actions tell me, you don't care

Now something just don't feel right

Something just don't feel right
